PT Mitratani Dua Tujuh started its first sweet potato or sweet potato harvest through its core program (self-planting) and partnership with farmers on Tuesday (24/1) in Panti District, Jember Regency.
Previously, the fulfillment of sweet potato raw materials was carried out by the company through a procurement process from a third party, but in 2023 to provide certainty for a sustainable supply chain of raw materials, PT Mitratani Dua Tujuh initiated the planting of sweet potatoes through the core program and also collaborated with farmers in the region. Jember Regency through a partnership program.
The first sweet potato harvest activity was attended directly by the Director of PT Mitratani Dua Tujuh, Mr. Arif Suhariadi accompanied by SEVP ranks, General Managers, and representatives of partnership managers and partner farmers. He said that the sweet potato partnership program with farmers aims to meet the demand for the export market.
“We continue to try to capture the export market opportunities that are wide open for this sweet potato or sweet potato commodity. And thank God, through this core program and partnership with farmers, we have managed to achieve a production potential of up to 20 tonnes/ha.” He added.
Mr. Wafi as the partner farmer said that the sweet potato partnership program with PT Mitratani Dua Seven provides market certainty for the produce that will be sold later.
